About Figure Finder

Where the numbers come from
Retail price
Each figure's RRP is the maker's price in Japanese yen, taken from HobbyLink Japan or Good Smile Company. Arcade prize figures have no maker price, so they show HobbyLink Japan's shop price instead, labelled "Shop price".
Market price
The market price is the average asking price of matching eBay listings that are live right now. These are prices sellers are asking, not prices anyone has paid. We leave out lots, custom pieces, spare parts and listings far from the typical price, and only show an average once there are at least three listings.
Currency
Retail prices are in yen and eBay prices in US dollars, and both are converted into the currency picked at the top of the page. Until you pick one, it follows the country you're visiting from (Australia, the US, Japan, the UK and the eurozone get their own currency; everywhere else gets US dollars). Rates are the European Central Bank's daily reference rates, loaded from Frankfurter once a day, so converted prices are approximate.
Matching
Listings are matched to figures automatically by their titles, so now and then a listing for a different item slips through. If a market price looks implausible next to the retail price, we hold it back for a manual check and show "Under review" until then. Always check a listing before you buy.
For collectors
With a free account you can favourite figures, group them into collections, and see what your shelf is worth at today's asking prices. Collections can be private or shared with other collectors.
